Romans 4:13; For The promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
V. 17; As it is written, I have made you a father of many nations, before him who he believed, even God, who, quickens (makes alive) the dead, and calls those things which be not as though they were.
Not only is God able to make the dead things come alive, but He also sees things that don’t exist yet, as though it already does. He knows the end from the beginning.
V. 18-21; Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, so shall your seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body, now dead, when he was about 100 years old, neither the deadness of Sarah‘s womb. He staggered not (his faith did not waver) at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong in faith, giving glory to God. And being fully persuaded (convinced) that what He (God) had promised, he was able to perform.
In Genesis 12-13, Abraham was 75 years old when God told him that He would bless him, and his seed would inherit the land that was before him. This was when Abraham didn’t have a biological seed. He’s in a strange land, among people he wasn’t familiar with. Among strange beliefs, strange gods, strange customs. And Abraham didn’t own one parcel of Real Estate in this strange land. Not one acre of land. But God told him, look north, south, east, west, look at the dust of the earth, look at the stars, all this will belong to your seed. God made promises to Abraham, and he believed God. He was fully convinced that what God said, he was able to perform it.
When he looked at his old, tired, wrinkled body, he didn’t doubt God. When he knew Sarah’s time of life was past childbearing, his faith didn’t waver.
Who against hope, believed in hope! Considering the circumstances, this seemed a hopeless situation. What looked hopeless to others, didn’t sway him. Y’all too old, are you sure that was from God? If God was going to do that, He would have done it by now. You know the negative thoughts and things people say, when the Promise and the Situation don’t seem to agree. The situation looks one way, but the promise has a different outlook.
But Abraham’s faith didn’t waver, year after year, he held on to God’s promise, and twenty five years later, he held that promise (Isaac) in his arms. Steadfast faith in the LORD God, fully convinced that what God said would come to pass. Stand strong in faith, with total assurance that what God has told you, will come to pass! Wait on it, for the promises of God are yea! Be fully convinced, no matter what the situation looks like, that God will NEVER break His promises to you, and you will see it come to pass.
God bless.
