The Song of Hannah Continues
Pearl of Great Price Tabernacle

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE. 1 SAMUEL 2:1-10; LUKE 1:46-56.
In the days when the Judges ruled, the Tabernacle of Moses was set up in a town called Shiloh in Israel, that’s where the Israelites went to worship and do sacrifices. Hannah went up to the house of the Lord every year with her husband, Elkanah, she wept before the Lord, her heart was grieved, because she was childless.
She prayed for a son, and she had an adversary, named Peninah, that caused her great distress, provoked her to make her miserable, because Pininah had several children and Hannah had none. She was in bitterness of soul, as she wept before the Lord and prayed for a child.
Eli, the priest at that time, told her, go in peace, and God grant your petition.
And a short time afterwords, Hannah conceived, had a son, and his name was called Samuel. A few years later, when Samuel was weaned, Hannah made the trip with Samuel, being a small child, to the house of the Lord. She stood before Eli and said, I am the woman that stood before you, praying to the Lord, and it was for this child that I prayed, and the Lord has given me my petition.
There was no denying that her prayer was answered, the proof stood right before them.
Every time she looked at Samuel, held him close, snuggled him, kissed his little face, every time she spoke his name, SAMUEL, SHE SAW AN ANSWERED PRAYER! There was no denying that a prayer and a petition before God had been answered. And Hannah prayed a song of Praise and Thanksgiving to God.
She said, My heart rejoices in the Lord. My horn (strength) is exalted In the Lord. My mouth is enlarged over my enemies, because I rejoice in your salvation.
There is none, holy as the Lord, there is none beside you, neither is there any rock like our God.
It’s a song of praise and thanksgiving, LOOK WHO GOD IS, LOOK WHAT HE CAN DO, LOOK WHAT HE WILL DO!
LUKE 1:46-56; We go now to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, to a young woman who did not pray for a son, but suddenly an angel appears and tells her that she will have a son.
This is a young woman who isn’t married, she is betrothed (engaged to Joseph) but the marriage hasn’t taken place yet, if she starts showing signs of being with child, under the law of Moses, she was to be stoned. But Gabriel said, YOU SHALL CONCEIVE, AND BRING FORTH A SON, AND GOD WILL GIVE TO HIM THE THRONE OF HIS FATHER DAVID.
Mary goes to see Elizabeth, and Mary goes into a song of praise and thanksgiving much like the one of Hannah. But it wasn’t for an answered prayer, it was for a prophecy that was told to a lowly handmaiden of what God will do, and she starts with v.46. MY SOUL DOES MAGNIFY THE LORD, AND MY SPIRIT HAS REJOICED IN GOD MY SAVIOR.
Luke 1:49; Mary, In her rejoicing, says, FOR HE THAT IS MIGHTY HAS DONE TO ME GREAT THINGS, AND HOLY IS HIS NAME.The song of Hannah continues from generation to generation of Saints. A song of praise and thanksgiving to the LORD our GOD, for the things He has done! Will you sing the song of Hannah? Has God done great things in your life? God bless
